The Onion Framework has been developed to give a clear structure of how we can unpick why we think and behave the way that we do. As well as build and maintain resilience to live happy and fulfilling lives.
Often we are impacted by traumas, adversities and difficult situations that we can face throughout our life. These situations can change the way that we think and behave, a lot of the time we can be unaware that this has occurred and can be left with behaviours that have come to be our "norm".
The Onion Framework was born from research and personal experience.
There is a mass of evidence already available regarding how trauma, adversities and difficult situations can affect our ability to process and deal with thoughts and emotions. However there is little regarding how to go about changing that, and what is available can be complicated and unclear unless you are a professional in that field.
We have both suffered with our own mental health issues which stem from trauma and adversities. We have spent years developing our understanding and building our resilience and wanted to share what had worked for us, with you.
We have developed the Framework to be clear, concise and most importantly understandable. This will enable us all to be able to develop and maintain our resilience when we are faced with bumps in our journey.
The framework, like an onion, consists of 8 layers. These layers take people through understanding what has affected us, how that impacts us and tools and skills to deal with those areas of our thinking and emotions that we wish to change. All this leads to resilience which we then develop and maintain.
There will be a series of online workshops available that cover the full framework as well as smaller sections for specific elements of the onion framework.
We have a Resilience community on Facebook! Mental health support, Tips, Strategies, Guidance and Education, all to help you strengthen your Resilience.
