The drugs bus is an exciting and unique Platform that allows people to learn about various different topics in a fun and engaging way.
We have 2 main areas on the bus: upstairs is maddie's crack shack. This area is dark and dingy and designed to represent a drugs den. This is our discussion space where we can tailor our information to discuss various different topics such as SUBSTANCE MISUSE, KNIFE CRIME, COUNTY LINES, MENTAL HEALTH and OFFENDING etc. People will take part in activities that revolve around these different topics, such as what substances are and how they effect you, consequences and choices, what is county lines, dealing with substance misuse situations, offending and what a life in prison would be like. In the “crack shack”, they will not just discuss the issues but be fully immersed into the environment.
The second area is, our replica prison cells. People will be put into the cells and have to take part in a 10-minute cell escape activity where they will have to solve puzzles and clues relating to substance misuse to get themselves released early on good behaviour.
There are some hard-hitting learning points that the people will pick up whilst working through these activities which will challenge their opinions, thoughts and views.
We tailor all our workshops to enable them to be relevant to the people taking part. We have tailored various different workshops that take part on the bus such as:
workshops in schools for all different ages
PRU/YOT Schools and teams
Family workshops for parents/careers and their young people work together around this issue.
Information giving and cell escapes at events/festivals
"We recently ran a day for our College and University students around the subject of drugs and how they can negatively impact on their life.
We arranged various events over the day including a visit from the Resilience Voyage bus. This proved to be an incredible experience for our students. The team worked massively hard all day and endured a never ending queue of students and the resulting feedback was fantastic. The talks and interactive events that the students took part in had a real effect and several went back 2 or 3 times. It was such a success we have booked them again for an even bigger event in September."
As a retired detective sergeant with many years experience in the Met drugs squad and at the sharp end of policing, I wholly endorse the 'prevention before cure' strategy. The Drug Bus in my opinion will assist in guiding the young away from the drug scene"

" Hi guys, I visited your bus a few weeks ago, can I say how impressed I was with the way its been set up. The safety aspect of the project is excellent. The content of the session is creative, engaging and interactive. Young people will learn so much and it will be a experience that will stay in their minds for many years. Good luck with this new exciting project."

Life skills such as the ones mentioned above are rarely taught however are essential to enable us to deal with everyday situations effectively. Without them we can find ourselves in difficulties throughout life. Why not give people the tools and thinking space to enable them to have positive interactions not only with themselves but others.
As a society we are finding that there is far more diagnosis of Anxiety, low self esteem, confidence, mental health. All of these revolve around peoples thinking skills, lets do something about this! Lets equip people with the skills to deal with problems effectively, to manage their emotions, to interact with others successfully and to be confident in their own thoughts and beliefs. Lets give people the skills to grow!
The aim of this course is to get clients to explore different skills to be more resilient to the everyday problems that life can bring by giving them better thinking skills. This will help them deal with situations more effectively and thus avoid negative outcomes in the future.
One of the main aims of our workshops is to be engaging. You won't find a power point presentation in sight, but in its place there are lots of fun and interactive activities.
We have two different versions one for adults and one for young people. Each is 5 hours long and can be ran as either a whole day session or broken down in to smaller chunks over a longer period.
