Empowering Youth & building stronger communities
Impactful resilience workshops, tackling substance misuse, crime, and mental health within the community. Its immersive approach educates and empowers, fostering safer, informed decisions for a healthier society.
Why we are here
In the past 5 years, we have had just over 10,000 people receive our educational services.
This includes the general public, families, youth professionals and young people.
97% of the children we worked with improved their knowledge in one or more area; the effect of knife crime and county lines, self-awareness, keeping yourself safe from knife crime and county lines situations and prison life.
Before the workshop, 58% of the students said that they do not talk about their problems.
After the workshop, 72% of the students said that they felt better able to talk about their problems.

ABOUT THE DRUG BUS
The drugs bus is an exciting and unique Platform that allows people to learn about various different topics in a fun and engaging way.
We have 2 main areas on the bus: upstairs is maddie's crack shack. This area is dark and dingy and designed to represent a drugs den. This is our discussion space where we can tailor our information to discuss various different topics such as substance misuse, knife crime, county lines, mental health and offending.
People will take part in activities that revolve around these different topics, such as what substances are and how they effect you, consequences and choices, what is county lines, dealing with substance misuse situations, offending and what a life in prison would be like. In the “crack shack”, they will not just discuss the issues but be fully immersed into the environment.
“As a retired detective sergeant with many years experience in the Met drugs squad and at the sharp end of policing, I wholly endorse the ‘prevention before cure’ strategy. The Drug Bus in my opinion will assist in guiding the young away from the drug scene”

ABOUT THE DRUG BUS
The second area is, our replica prison cells. People will be put into the cells and have to take part in a 10-minute cell escape activity where they will have to solve puzzles and clues relating to substance misuse to get themselves released early on good behaviour.
There are some hard-hitting learning points that the people will pick up whilst working through these activities which will challenge their opinions, thoughts and views.
We tailor all our workshops to enable them to be relevant to the people taking part. We have tailored various different workshops that take part on the bus such as:
Workshops in schools for all different ages
PRU/YOT Schools and teams
Family workshops for parents/careers and their young people work together around this issue.
Information giving and cell escapes at events/festivals
“I visited your bus a few weeks ago, can I say how impressed I was with the way its been set up. The safety aspect of the project is excellent. The content of the session is creative, engaging and interactive. Young people will learn so much and it will be a experience that will stay in their minds for many years. ”

A little more about my personal journey…
Hi, I’m Kerry. Mum of 3, resilience advocator and trainer, pole dancing enthusiast and Domestic Violence survivor.
I help people build and maintain resilience by understanding how we think, feel and behave. It’s at the foundation of everything we do, yet it's something we often know very little about.
10 years ago, I had no idea what resilience was. I had just left an abusive relationship, and my mental health was in a terrible state. Despite working in the psychology department of a prison at the time, I felt completely lost and stuck.
Since that time, I've embraced support and invested time to build the skills and toolkit I needed to navigate life's challenges. It hasn’t always been an easy journey, and I continue to grow every day.
This journey has made me incredibly passionate about resilience. It's not something that should only come into play during crisis; it's a skill we all should have, starting at a young age, just like riding a bike or learning to write our names.
It doesn't matter how old you are, what your gender identity is, where you come from, or what your career is. Resilience is for everyone.
We can't avoid adversity, but we can equip ourselves with the tools to manage it and keep moving forward.
I’d love to support you on this journey.
